“Photo by @ciriljazbec A view from a helicopter on a dog sled over the ice near Uummannaq in Northern Greenland. There’s something about Greenland’s epic landscapes from the perspective of a dog sled that other ways of transport simply can’t match. Maybe it is the slower pace that gives enough time to take in all the impressions or maybe it is the combination of sled dogs panting plus the rhythmic beat of their large paws. The reality is that dog sledding is decreasing also due to the climate change. Warmer temperatures have made hunting harder because cold-weather animals have moved away and traveling by ice is less reliable.
