“Friends know her as the Pixie Ninja. Kaci Lickteig, a physical therapist, has defied her geography (the flat plains of the Midwest) and her background (she barely ran as a teenager) to emerge as one of the top female #ultramarathon runners in the United States. For Kaci, taking a "baby step” after an injury meant #running a 50-mile race. The longer the race, the stronger she seems to get. On Friday, she will celebrate her 29th birthday with 29 miles, more than a marathon. But despite all of the miles she has run, Kaci has had to decline international invitations: She doesn’t have a passport. “I should probably get one,” she told @nytimessports. After this many miles, Kaci finally seems to realize that she’s going places.“ By nytimes on Instagram.
