"Keira Knightley is making her Broadway debut next Thursday, starring in the title role of "Thérèse Raquin." The play is an adaptation of Emile Zola's classic 19th-century tale of love, guilt and the critical importance of swimming lessons. For the first 30 minutes or so, Thérèse barely speaks, only periodically having a one-sided conversation with … a river. The character has apparently been waiting for Keira, who was offered the role twice in her 20s. One reason the 30-year-old actress finally accepted, she said, was boredom from reading "a hell of lot of scripts with characters that were the supportive girlfriend/wife." @ryanpfluger photographed #keiraknightley on #nytassignment."
