"During his 15 years in the United States, Kelvin Villanueva, an undocumented migrant from Honduras, had never been pulled over while driving. Then, one night last June, a policeman stopped him for a broken taillight. Kelvin was arrested, and after months circuiting prisons and detention centers, he was deemed ineligible for asylum and deported. Over the last 5 years, the U.S. has deported more than half a million Hondurans, Guatemalans and Salvadorans — many of whom, like Kelvin, have had to leave their children behind. While on #nytassignment for @nytmag in #Honduras, @michaelchristopherbrown of @magnumphotos photographed Kelvin on his aunt's property in San Pedro Sula, a city that has held the highest homicide rate in the world for the last 4 years."
