"On the tough end of Youngstown, Ohio, in a squat cinder-block refuge called Jack Loew's South Side Boxing Club, the boxing life continues for Anthony Taylor. Anthony and other would-be champions punch bags and skip rope, spar with partners and obey the sign that says "no weapon of any kind" — other than fists. But just before Christmas, during his first professional fight, Anthony experienced something that most 24-year-old lightweights will never have to endure. He won. But the fallen loser, Hamzah Aljahmi, was not rising, not rising, still not rising. While on assignment for @nytimessports, the photographer @jeffswensen photographed #boxing gloves on the wall at the gym, where Anthony — known as the Tiger — is preparing for his 2nd professional fight.
