""The deal will let the press work more smoothly." — Alireza Bakhtiari, the chairman and CEO of Donya-e Eqtesad, a large newspaper in Iran
The photographer Ako Salemi (@f64s125), who is based in Iran, set out to capture residents of Tehran and Mashhad, asking all of his subjects what the nuclear deal and the lifting of a decade of economic sanctions meant for them. "Before this project, I had assumed that all Iranians would welcome the deal," the photographer writes in this weekend's @nytimes Sunday Review section. "But I came to realize that people's work, beliefs and economic class deeply affected their response." We'll share more of @f64s125's portraits from Iran later today. #nytweekender" By nytimes on Instagram.
