"At #Ikea, it's easy to lose yourself in the hypnotic, repetition of products everywhere. While some view the experience as overwhelming, the photographer @margeauxwalter sees it as a work of art — one she has chosen to capture in her photo series "Sign Language." To re-enact the phenomenon of losing your identity amid a sea of #Ikea products, @margeauxwalter purchases rugs, furniture, flooring and other home goods from the store. She then stages elaborate scenes, for which she counts herself among the models. @margeauxwalter calls this photo "Patchwork." This weekend, the @nytimes #lensblog and @cunyjschool are sponsoring #nyportfolio16, an annual portfolio review that provides photographers the opportunity to have their work seen and celebrated. This #nytweekender, we'll be sharing more photos from participants at #nyportfolio16. Visit the link in our profile to see more of @margeauxwalter's work." By nytimes on Instagram.
