New York City Hospitals May Need More Aid to Counter Deficit

From The New York Times:
The system, the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, which operates 11 hospitals and serves a large proportion of the city's poor and uninsured, faces a bleak fiscal picture in the years ahead, according to a report by the city's Independent Budget Office that is to be released today during the continuing City Council hearings into the mayor's preliminary budget. The deficit is expected to rise to $888.8 million by the 2010 fiscal year.
