We’ve selected our image of the week. Bullous emphysema, seen most frequently in smokers, is characterized by damage to the alveolar walls, causing the formation of large air spaces. These giant bullae, which can grow up to 20 centimeters in diameter, can be removed surgically to improve exercise capacity in carefully selected patients. Do you know the indicators for bullectomy?
